Lake Manyara National Park is a compact yet incredibly diverse gem located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Known for its breathtaking scenery, the park offers a rich mix of groundwater forests, open savannah, and the alkaline waters of Lake Manyara itself.

Famous for its tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, and vibrant birdlife—including flamingos, pelicans, and over 400 bird species—Lake Manyara delivers excellent wildlife viewing in a short time. The lush forest areas are home to baboons and blue monkeys, creating a lively and unique safari atmosphere.

With Travel with Shira, guests experience Lake Manyara through well-guided game drives and scenic routes, making it an ideal addition to both short safaris and longer Northern Circuit journeys.

Lake Manyara can be visited year-round, but the best time is from June to October, during the dry season, when wildlife is easier to spot and road conditions are excellent. The wet season (November to May) is perfect for bird lovers, with migratory birds and lush green landscapes.
