7 Days Serengeti migration safari

7 Days from $2,436 per person

OVERVIEW

One of the most sought-after experiences for wildlife and nature enthusiasts is the Great Migration. This is an ever-moving circular migration of over a million animals across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. Notably, this phenomenon involves the constant movement of columns of wildebeest. However, this joined by a host of companions, following an age-old route in search of grazing and water. But, after calving in the southern part of Tanzania’s Serengeti near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. the animals journey through the Serengeti in a clockwise direction towards the Masai Mara in Kenya. Subsequently, they return near the end of the year. Along the way, high drama unfolds as predators take thousands of animals. Not only thousands more are born, but also, replenishing the numbers and sustaining the circle of life.

Therefore, the circuit takes the animals from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. (although not into the Crater itself) south of the Serengeti in Tanzania. Then, they journey up through the Serengeti, across into the Masai Mara in Kenya, and back again. However, this journey is perilous: young calves are snatched by predators; a pride of lions slows them down; brave beasts break legs on steep river slopes; crocodiles take their share of the stragglers, and the weak and exhausted drown.
